ENJOY your stay in billings
The MINT Film Festival takes place in the heart of downtown Billings, where there are many great places to explore within blocks of the film festival, as well as the natural splendor of the surrounding area.
An Abundance of Local Culture
There’s so much to do in downtown Billings in between your MINT film screenings. Take a walk down nearby historic Montana Avenue for the largest walkable brewery trail in Montana, featuring six breweries, two distilleries and one cider house, all within easy walking distance. Find a great local boutique or shop for your own custom cowboy hat or handmade bag. Local history and art are on display at the many local art galleries and antique shops, as well as the Western Heritage Center and the Yellowstone Art Museum. At the end of a long day of filmgoing and exploring, award-winning restaurants, coffee, baked goods, and sweet treats await (see below for a list).
Amazing Outdoor Adventures
Once named Outside Magazine’s Best Place to Live in the U.S., Billings is known as Montana’s Trailhead due to its proximity to unparalleled natural beauty—from wide open prairies, to rimrocks, to rivers, to mountain peaks. In addition to dozens of local trails around the rimrocks, Billings is also within a 2-hour drive of world-class hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, climbing, water sports, and sightseeing of spectacular landscapes and wildlife in Yellowstone National Park, the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, and Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area to name a few. For those cineastes with a taste for the outdoors, it is a combination that can’t be beat.
